In this article we will begin by giving a general overview of diagnosis in Corpus Hippocraticum, by analyzing its epistemological structure. We will then focus on the following three strictly connected questions: - What is the role of the narrative dimension, and in particular the relationship between semeia and logoi, in diagnostic process? - What role does trust (pistis) play - in different ways - in the diagnostic process in the triadic relation of doctor-patient-disease? - Is there a relationship between the role of trust and the epistemological status of medical diagnosis?

A partir de una aproximación previa en un trabajo anterior a propósito de aspectos fonéticos y morfológicos en dos tratados quirúrgicos del Corpus Hippocraticum, De fistulis y De haemorrhoidibus, en el presente artículo se quiere continuar esta labor en el terreno de la sintaxis y el vocabulario, con vistas a poner de relieve algunos rasgos de griego helenístico que, claramente, aparecen en estos tratados. Entre otras consideraciones, en este artículo se quieren poner de relieve algunos rasgos lingüísticos de los tratados hipocráticos De fistulis y De haemorrhoidibus, dentro del grupo de los tratados quirúrgicos de la Colección, con vistas a mostrar cómo se entreveran en ellos rasgos jónicos y áticos en dirección al griego helenístico. This paper seeks to investigate the medical representations and descriptions of ἀναισθησία as we find them in the Hippocratic Corpus. It represents an attempt to analyze both the cognitive and the physiological aspects of perception and, above all, its distortion and/or absence in Hippocratic medicine. The medical phenomenology of ἀναισθησία will be considered in respect to both its outcomes (inability to perceive the outside world; inability to perceive one's internal states), but also in the light of, and in connection with, other phenomena like the absence/suspension of phonation, disturbances of breathing, alteration of the body's motor functions, and insensibility to pain.

La fervida attività di traduttore dal greco al latino alla Corte degli Svevi in Sicilia fa di Bartolomeo da Messina uno dei protagonisti europei di quel vasto movimento di recupero delle origini della scienza e della filosofia greca che riguardò l'Occidente latino tra XII e XIII secolo.
